lr99-37.jpg - 1927 Bugatti Type 35B. While this car was supposed to have a supercharged 2.3 liter inline eight, I've been told by a leading Bugatti expert that this car may have been fitted with a period four-cylinder engine of a different make. Certainly the way the engine cover has been cut leads me to believe this. It looked to be in otherwise original condition, maybe even original paint. It's great to see unrestored cars like this.Update: I received the following via email from another gearhead, who didn't sign his email."The '27 35B in question has indeed been modified, in place of its precisely engineered (at the time) engine, there has been (somewhat unceremoniously) a Model "A" Ford 4-cyl. installed. The "flathead" 4 has been modified with contemporary performance techniques, probably yielding 60 hp or so. The car was an early "special", the original engine probably removed due to expense and virtually no parts support, the car being procured at an overall low cost because of obsolescence."Thanks, and if this was you, write back so I can credit you!
